Executive Vice PresidentWilliam R. Pomeroy, CFP®, former Executive Vice President for The Shobe Financial Group and The EDSA Group, is on extended leave. Bill was actively involved in these organizations from 1986 until 2010.
Throughout the years Bill has been actively involved with community and industry organizations. He has acted as a board member and the past president of the local Financial Planning Association chapter and was the two-time former chairman of the Louisiana Business Group on Health and The Louisiana Health Care Alliance. His community work has included being an instructor and sponsor for Junior Achievement, serving on the Grants Committee for the Foundation for Financial Planning and twice serving on the Pass/Fail Committee for the ICFP Board of Standards Testing, and on the FPA Government Relations Tax Subcomittee. He was also a member of the U.S. Department of Treasury’s task force on Financial Empowerment, which subsequently became the National Endowment for Financial Education task force.
Bill has been interviewed and quoted in many publications including the Journal of Financial Planning, FPA Magazine, Dow Jones’ Investment Advisor Magazine , Smart Money Magazine, Financial Planning, H.R. Magazine, National Underwriter, The Greater Baton Rouge Business Report, The Advocate, and The Times Picayune. Bill is also a contributing author to the book entitled "Tips From The Top." He has spoken at a number of local, national and international professional organizations and conferences including the Financial Planning Association Success Forum, the Personal Finance Employee Education Conference, and the Houston Society of CPAs.
Bill has a Master of Science degree in marketing from Louisiana State University where he has also taught. Bill is also a decorated Vietnam Veteran.
