Chairman of The Shobe Financial Group, Ed has over 40 years’ experience in the financial services industry specializing in comprehensive financial planning for individuals and closely-held businesses.

He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner and Chartered Life Underwriter, a Registered Representative with Raymond James Financial Services, and a licensed Life, Health, Accident, and Variable Annuity agent. Ed serves as the Chairman of The EDSA Group, Inc., a national licensor and provider of financial education programs.

A noted speaker and educator in the financial planning industry, Ed has addressed a number of local, national and international professional organizations and conferences, including the International Association for Financial Planning and The Institute of Certified Financial Planners (collectively now referred to as the Financial Planning Association); The Estate and Business Planning Council of Baton Rouge; The Baton Rouge Chapter of Women CPAs; and many broker/dealer conferences. Additionally, Ed has instructed financial education workshops for several corporations.

Ed has been interviewed by numerous television and radio shows and has been quoted in publications such as Financial Planning, Planning Matters, The Practicing Professional, National Underwriter, The Greater Baton Rouge Business Report, The Advocate, and 65 & Fine.

In the community, Ed has served as a board member and a two-term president of the local Financial Planning Association chapter and remains an active member. He has contributed his business acumen to many associations including the Baton Rouge Area Foundation Grants Committee, Mary Bird Perkins Planned Giving Council, Greater Baton Rouge Chamber of Commerce, Better Business Bureau, and the Louisiana Healthcare Alliance.

Ed is a graduate of the University of Tennessee with advanced coursework in Economics and Finance.
